This Privacy Policy explains how MoKabb ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use our website, our mobile applications and our taxi-booking and transfer services (together, the "Services"). We handle your data transparently and in line with the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 and, where it applies to you, comparable data-protection laws such as the GDPR.
1. Who we are
MoKabb operates a booking platform that connects riders with licensed drivers for airport transfers, point-to-point rides, tours and corporate travel. For any privacy question, contact us at mokabbltd@gmail.com, by phone on +230 57223280, or by post at Royal Road, Bain Boeuf, Pereybere, Mauritius.
2. The data we collect
We only collect what we need to arrange your ride and improve our Services:
- Identity and contact details: name, phone number, email address.
- Booking details: pickup and drop-off locations, dates, times, passenger count, flight number and special requests such as a child seat.
- Payment information: amount, method and status. Card details are processed by our secure payment providers; we never store full card numbers on our servers.
- Technical data: device type, browser, IP address, language preference and cookies (see our Cookies Policy).
- Communications: messages you exchange with us or with your driver through the platform, and customer-support requests.
3. Why we use your data
We use your data to provide quotes and confirm bookings, dispatch a driver, track flights for airport pickups, process payments, send booking confirmations and service messages, answer support requests, prevent fraud, meet our legal obligations and improve the safety and quality of the Services. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Who we share it with
Your booking details are shared with the assigned driver so they can perform the ride. We also rely on trusted processors — payment providers, hosting, mapping, analytics and communication services — bound by contracts to protect your data. We may disclose data when the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.
5. How long we keep it
We keep booking and invoicing records for as long as accounting and tax law requires, and account data while your account remains active. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to certain uses or withdraw consent at any time. To exercise a right, email us; we respond within the timeframe set by law. You may also lodge a complaint with the Mauritius Data Protection Office or your local supervisory authority.
7. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (SSL/TLS), access controls, and secure, PCI-DSS-compliant payment processing. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
8. Children
Our Services are not directed at children under 16. Minors travel under the responsibility of an adult who makes the booking.
9. International transfers
Some of our service providers (hosting, mapping, analytics, payments) may process data outside Mauritius. Whenever data leaves the country, we rely on providers offering an adequate level of protection and appropriate contractual safeguards, in line with the Data Protection Act 2017 and, where applicable, GDPR transfer mechanisms.
10. Marketing communications
We only send promotional messages if you have opted in, and every message includes a simple way to opt out. Service messages about your bookings (confirmations, driver details, changes) are not marketing and are sent as part of the Services.
11. Automated decisions and profiling
We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you by purely automated means. Automated processing is limited to operational matters — matching the nearest driver, computing route-based fares, detecting payment fraud — and any account measure that materially affects you involves human review, which you may request at any time.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows the latest revision; significant changes will be announced on this page.
